RECURRING


  • London’s much-loved FREE music and performance festival is back this summer. Now in its 11th year, King’s Cross Summer Sounds returns with its most exciting line-up yet, seamlessly blending the world’s best folk, jazz, soul, classical and indie rock music with dynamic dance performances and exceptional local talent, all set against the backdrop of the iconic Coal Drops Yard.


Till the 16th - Everyman on the Canal

  • London’s most idyllic outdoor cinema, Everyman on the Canal, returns to King’s Cross with a full programme, including Some Like It Hot, Grease, Dune: Part One, Paddington and The Devil Wears Prada, alongside cult classics, family favourites, Wimbledon and a handful of surprises still to come.


  • A steady and well-rounded vinyasa flow class designed to help you build strength, mobility, and confidence in your practice. Expect variety, progression, and encouragement. £10 first class


  • This is a slower-paced class where we focus on alignment and the finer details of transitioning between poses. You’ll learn the “how-to” of each pose, breaking them down step-by-step, rather than just flowing through the practice. £10 first class


Wednesdays until Aug 19 - Folk Fire Circle

  • Family-friendly outdoor campfire evenings with storytelling, folk songs, poetry and nature activities at the Folk Fire Circle.

  • These folk fire circles will include readings from published authors, performances from musicians campfire singing, drum circles from children who attend Calthorpe's holiday programme, information sharing, wildlife activities for children and bringing what is a rural past time into the heart of King's Cross.

  • This free event is open to all. Jacket potatoes will be on sale. Book your free space to guarantee entry. Walk-ins may be available but cannot be guaranteed.

  • This event is part of Camden Council's family-friendly and inclusive evenings programme, supporting free and low-cost activities for families and young people between 5-9pm across Camden this summer.


Saturdays - Camden Art Club

  • Art Club is a weekly meet-up for young people, 11-18yrs, living in Camden. Workshops will include: drawing and painting; street art; photography; printing, collaborative projects; and gallery & museum visits. We will work indoors and outdoors.

  • Workshops are free and materials supplied. Get in touch : space is limited and it is important to register in advance.

ONE-OFF


  • Join us for a walk in Central London including a visit to the Queer Britain museum. We'll visit the Queer Britain Museum in Kings Cross and walk from there into Soho with an optional picnic at the end.

  • Meeting point: Queer Britain, 2 Granary Square, N1C 4BH

  • End point: Soho, nearest station Tottenham Court Road

  • What to bring: Something to drink and comfy walking shoes,a s well as any food for a picnic in Soho (or there are places you can buy lunch)

  • Walk length: 3.5km and approx. 1 hour 30 mins of walking.

  • Access information: We will be walking on pavements. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any further information.

  • Toilets: There are toilets at King's Cross Station and Queer Britain.

  • Castlehaven’s 40th anniversary is a celebration of community.

For 40 years, Castlehaven has brought people together, creating opportunities, building connections and supporting generations of local people. 40Fest is a chance to reflect on that journey, celebrate our impact and recognise the residents, members, volunteers, staff, partners and supporters who have helped shape Castlehaven over the last four decades.

  • 40Fest is an opportunity to bring our everyone together.

We’re bringing together local residents, community organisations, schools, businesses, artists and performers for a day of celebration, creativity and connection.

So whether you’ve been involved with Castlehaven for years, recently discovered us, or are visiting for the first time, we’d love you to join us as we celebrate everything that makes our community special.


  • Are you between the ages of 12 and 16, and curious to try something new? Come and join us for an evening of K-pop dance - or all three!

  • Whether you're a complete beginner or already love to dance, there's something for everyone.

  • Kakilang returns to Wac Arts from 4th to 6th August this year, bringing three inclusive workshops facilitated by an experienced dance specialist. They are not only a chance to learn iconic choreography from some of the foremost K-pop artists today, but also to explore different dance styles, develop new skills, build confidence, and meet like-minded peers who share your passion for movement and creativity.

  • No prior experience is needed - just bring your energy, curiosity, and willingness to express yourself!


  • A fun nature workshop for 6-12 year olds with creative, interactive activities.

  • Join us at Camley Street to learn survival skills in the wild. Try your hand at lighting a fire, building a mini-shelter and learning clues for survival from the natural world.

  • The workshop costs £10 per family. We do not want the cost to be a barrier to accessing this event, if it is not affordable for you, please email learning@wildlondon.org.uk for a place.

  • Meet at the Education room at the back of the Visitor Centre.

  • The session will be led by a member of our Learning & Engagement team.

  • Aimed at 6- 12 year olds but younger siblings welcomed. All children must be accompanied throughout the session by a responsible adult.

  • ‘Boombastic’, ‘Angel’, and ‘It Wasn’t Me’ defined a generation of 90s and 00s Caribbean pop, while carrying dancehall from Kingston sound systems into the global mainstream.

  • A rare chance to experience one of Jamaica’s most recognisable voices in an intimate London setting.


  • Charity Super.Mkt returns to Coal Drops Yard! Root out second-hand treasures, learn upcycling techniques and prevent thousands of tonnes of clothes from piling up in landfill, all while doing your bit for charity.


  • On this walking tour we’ll explore the rise and fall of the neighbourhood’s cinemas from the magnificent Camden Hippodrome to the unique Plaza cinema that thrived in the 1980s and 90s. We’ll also drop by the Camden Odeon to discover its quirky, independent past and pay tribute to Muppet Show creator Jim Henson.

  • The tour traces how these buildings transitioned through various forms of entertainment, from music halls and variety theatres to roller-skating rinks and bingo halls and we’ll see how the rise of television, the video boom and changing urban development affected cinema-going habits and the survival of cinemas.

  • But all is not lost!

  • We’ll finish the tour at Camden Town’s newest cinema, the award-winning Curzon. This modern venue, with its focus on independent and foreign films, represents the continuing importance of cinema in Camden.


  • Popular culture is littered with famous criminal men - from Robin Hood and Dick Turpin to Ronnie Biggs and the Kray brothers - but what about all the criminal women? Where are the highwaywomen and jewel thieves, the bank robbers and gold smugglers, the motor bandits and burglars?

  • In Queens of the Underworld, Caitlin Davies traces the history of professional female crooks, from Moll Cutpurse who ruled the Jacobean underworld, to Noreen Harbord the postwar Queen of the Contraband Coast, and Zoe Progl, Britain's No. 1 Woman Burglar who appeared in the Bow Street dock in the autumn of 1960, recaptured after her notorious escape from Holloway Prison.

  • Caitlin Davies is a novelist, non-fiction writer and award-winning journalist. Her recent books focus on women in the justice system, as criminals, prisoners and detectives. Bad Girls: The Rebels and Renegades of Holloway Prison was nominated for the Orwell Prize for Political Writing (2019).

  • Conditions of entry: this event is recommended for anyone over the age of 16 years.

  • Tickets: there are two ways to attend this event, in person at Bow Street Museum, or online via a live stream (using Zoom).

  • Join us at Keats House for a two hour yoga and creative journalling and writing workshop with Calleen Everitt.

  • This workshop will help you drop into flow and kindle your creative intuition. First we'll synchronise breath to movement in a gentle but invigorating yoga flow, followed by a meditation to release blocks and invite play and curiosity. In the writing half of the workshop we'll use journalling and creative prompts to spark ideas and channel our energy.

  • No previous experience in yoga or writing is required!

  • Admission to the house is included with a workshop ticket

  • Participants will need to bring a mat, notebook and pen, bottle of water and wear clothes they feel comfy to move in.

Aug 20 - North Yard Night Markets (every Thursday)

  • While the sun goes down, North Yard and Stables markets come to life.   • A Sunday evening of live jazz, drinks and dining at KOKO.

From timeless ballads to era-defining anthems, this special KOKO Jazz Club performance pays tribute to the Queen of Soul through the voice of one of the UK’s most respected live performers.

  • Best known for her work with Incognito, Haynes has also performed and recorded with artists including Van Morrison, Chaka Khan, Billy Ocean, Lulu, Anastacia and Dave Stewart.


  • Monthly folklore club in the heart of London. An informative talk with music, storytelling plus Q&A. This month's talk is about Faeries.


  • Eighteenth-century London's sordid sex industry is dramatically brought to life in this immersive, theatrical walking tour.

  • Allow your guide, ‘The Baroness’, to transport you back to the steamy underworld of the Georgian sex worker in 1700’s Covent Garden, in this tour by Herstorical Tours.

  • Starting at Covent Garden station, you will venture through the famed ‘Square of Venus’ and down the atmospheric backstreets of Charing Cross before finishing in an ancient tavern for a tot of ‘Mother’s Ruin’. Along the way you’ll encounter high-class courtesans and women working the streets, business-savvy brothel Madams and country girls in over their heads. Through street theatre and character comedy, you’ll hear the stories of the women that weren’t often given a voice, in a trade that existed to serve men.

  • This tour will last approximately 2 hours but may run over, and will require both walking and standing.  The ticket includes the tour and free entry into the Foundling Museum, but the Museum will not feature as part of the tour; you may visit the Museum earlier in the day. This walking tour is for over 18s.
