OCTOBER-FEBRUARY - Tracing the Unseen @ Creative Health Camden
‘Tracing the Unseen’ is a group exhibition featuring embroidery, photography, sculpture, painting, needle felting and assemblage. The exhibition explores chronic health conditions and its diverse lived experiences.
Our bodies carry our stories. Sometimes, these stories are recognised through our scars, our skin, or the way our bodies move. Others exist beneath the surface at a cellular level. Art-making offers an exploration of these realities, giving them a new tangible form.
The exhibition examines the delicate details and overlooked realities of chronic health conditions. Often under-researched or misdiagnosed, the majority of these conditions remain difficult to identify. Related health issues and unpredictable symptoms complicate treatment and management.
As awareness and advocacy grow, new understandings emerge, leading to the formation of communities led by acknowledgement, empathy and hopeful change.
Displaying the works of seven artists: Catriona Faulkner, Alice Rorrison, Coco Warner-Allen, Wenqi Zou, Billie M.Vigne, Antonia Attwood and Sara Ulfsparre – each artist is united through shared moments, materials and the navigation of chronic health conditions through creative practice.
Everyday items and found materials give insight into experience, collected during short, familiar walks in the world. Beads, sequins, twigs and trinkets are repeatedly incorporated into specific works, bringing intrigue and a sense of ritual. Changed by illness and pain, the body is reimagined through natural and synthetic materials - stitched, stuck, layered, felted and moulded to help our understanding.
A collaborative exhibition between Creative Health Camden and The Poorly Project, ‘Tracing the Unseen’ is a call for community-building, forming a space where artists, patients, health practitioners and advocates come together. In this process there is hope for the unseen to be seen.
ONE-OFF:
1 Nov - Camden Vintage Furniture & Flea
The Vintage Furniture Flea brings together specialist traders from London and across the UK, selected for their eye, expertise and design-led stock. Spanning the 1920s onwards, the focus is on original furniture and homewares chosen for their form, material and longevity — pieces that sit comfortably in contemporary interiors as well as period homes.
This is not about reproductions or predictable trends. Instead, the Flea champions authentic design: iconic silhouettes, sculptural furniture, marble, glass, metal and wood, alongside thoughtful, smaller homeware pieces that interior designers and stylists return to time and again. It’s a place to find objects that work quietly but confidently within a space.
Expect a considered mix of furniture, seating, tables and storage, paired with lighting, mirrors, ceramics, glassware, textiles and decorative details. From statement pieces to everyday design classics, the Vintage Furniture Flea is about furnishing a home with intention — combining character, quality and style in a way that feels personal rather than prescribed.

You'll join us as we gather round the table to help prepare budget-friendly, healthy, and culturally diverse meals in a laid-back, family-style setting. No cooking skills required - just pop on in and grab yourself an apron! The only goal is to get stuck in, enjoy the meal, and enjoy the company.
Sessions will loosely follow the structure below, with a pinch of salt for the beauty and unpredictable chaos of togetherness:
Gathering

Prep
Supper hosts will help assign the group roles and tasks before we all jump into cooking. No job is little, and we can all help each other out as we go along.
Dinner
Once the meal is cooked, it's dinner time! We'll sit down together and enjoy the feast family-style, you'll receive some conversation prompts and props from our Supper Hosts to help wash down the evening with some fun, laughter, and connection.

13 Nov - Camden’s Lost Cinemas Walking Tour
Camden Town might be more associated with music than movies but this world-famous part of London has a rich cinematic history to discover via its buildings old and new.
On this walking tour we’ll explore the rise and fall of the neighbourhood’s cinemas from the magnificent Camden Hippodrome to the unique Plaza cinema that thrived in the 1980s and 90s. We’ll also drop by the Camden Odeon to discover its quirky, independent past and pay tribute to Muppet Show creator Jim Henson.
The tour traces how these buildings transitioned through various forms of entertainment, from music halls and variety theatres to roller-skating rinks and bingo halls and we’ll see how the rise of television, the video boom and changing urban development affected cinema-going habits and the survival of cinemas.
But all is not lost!
We’ll finish the tour at Camden Town’s newest cinema, the award-winning Curzon. This modern venue, with its focus on independent and foreign films, represents the continuing importance of cinema in Camden.
The tour starts outside Mornington Crescent Underground station (Northern line), lasts approximately two hours and ends a five-minute walk from Camden Town Underground station.

For centuries, the lives and experiences of disabled people have been largely absent from mainstream accounts of British history. Yet this is not a history without evidence - it is a history which is often overlooked.
To mark Disability History Month, historian David Turner sits down with Robin Ince to discuss his ground-breaking new book, Disability: A History of Resistance, which places disabled people and their lives at the centre of the story of Britain from 1500 to the present day.
Drawing on countless forgotten voices and stories, he offers a history of Britain that challenges narratives centred on doctors and philanthropists, revealing a struggle for dignity and recognition. By bringing disabled lives back into the national story, David uncovers a richer and more complete history of Britain.
Join us for an illuminating conversation about the people, stories and experiences that have been missing from our understanding of the past.
Meet monthly to select a book to read, then chat about what you liked about it.
Our adults' Book Club meets on the last Wednesday of the month.
We are reading: The Reader by Bernhard Schlink. Copies are available to borrow at the library desk. Join us over teas and coffees to chat about the book, and to choose the next one.
Pick up your reading habits for the National Year of Reading 2026. Widen your choices with recommendations from fellow readers.
