February is Here and Camden is full of creative energy

This month brings many local art events focused on making, crafting, and hands-on workshops! From ceramics to zines and small tours, there's a lot to discover and join.

A fun and welcoming drumming group. Explore great rhythms and play a variety of drums from around the world. Come and play drums with a friendly, welcoming group at the wonderful Green Note in Camden - London's celebrated live music venue for roots and world music


Ever wondered what makes kombucha so good for your gut? Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at this fermented drink!

On Tuesday 3rd February we'll visit Wild IS Earth in Kentish Town to see what happens in this urban London Lab. We'll learn how Livia Palmiero, the Founder and Brewster, ferments seasonally flavoured and carefully crafted Kombucha. We'll hear about the authentic and traditional home-brewing techniques and health-enhancing benefits of this fascinating drink.


February 4 - Science on Screen: Jurassic Park (FREE) @The Francis Crick Institute

Join us this winter for the return of Science on Screen. Enjoy popular films with a science twist in one of London’s most unusual cinematic locations. This February, experience cult classic Jurassic Park on the big screen and hear from leading scientists as they delve into the film's themes of genetics, palaeontology and the ethics of science. This event is free but tickets must be booked in advance via Eventbrite


Camden Town might be more associated with music than movies but this world-famous part of London has a rich cinematic history to discover via its buildings old and new.

On this walking tour we’ll explore the rise and fall of the neighbourhood’s cinemas from the magnificent Camden Hippodrome to the unique Plaza cinema that thrived in the 1980s and 90s. We’ll also drop by the Camden Odeon to discover its quirky, independent past and pay tribute to Muppet Show creator Jim Henson


Join artist and Poetic Pastel Press founder Johanna Tagada Hoffbeck for an immersive afternoon dedicated to zine culture and creative exploration. This new workshop will begin with a 45-minute illustrated talk and Q&A introducing the multiple reasons for and possibilities of zines as artistic, creative, poetic, and activist forms and as an accessible yet far reaching publishing practice. In the second part of the session, participants will create their own zine


Touch down at BOXPARK for the 60th edition of the Super Bowl on Sunday 08 February!

With HD screens, DJs, beer pong, giveaways, eating challenges and plenty of booze from COORS and co, BOXPARK is the ultimate venue for American Football fans to unite for this late-night extravaganza. Be prepared for live entertainment and all of the sporting action live from USA and don’t forget the notorious halftime show with Bad Bunny!


February 9 - The Transformative Power of Poetry: Confidence (FREE) @Swiss Cottage Library

Find out how you can incorporate poetry into your daily routine to promote healing with poetry anthologist Liz Ison. Discover the transformative power of poetry in the first hour, then try your hand at blackout poetry in the second


February 11 - Clay Vase Making @3 Locks Brewing Company

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with creativity, connection, and a little bit of mess in this relaxed, social clay workshop. This is part one of a two-part creative series, perfect for anyone who wants to craft, meet new people, and enjoy a fun, welcoming evening. Spend your Valentine's morning or afternoon taking part in a fun and relaxed dance class with Emma from Forever Wedding Dance (part of Dance Train Education) and learn how to dance together in a no-pressure environment. As this class is designed for couples, you will not be asked to dance with anyone else so you can spend the whole time with your own partner


Sunday Throwing with Jake Fisk

Come and can learn to throw, refine your skills or work on a throwing project of your choosing at our beautiful studio at Rochester Square. Jake Fisk is a multidisciplinary artist and educator who graduated from the Slade School of Art in 2020 and went on to study at the Royal Drawing School. With over five years experience working in ceramics he has turned his hand to teaching with an enthusiasm for sharing his acquired knowledge and skills. Jake works with people of all ages and abilities running drawing classes for the Royal Drawing School with an emphasis on accessibility, enjoyment, experimentation, and creative development.

These Lego robotics sessions are for more advance Lego Robotic users and sign up is essential as we have a limited number of spaces available at each stand-alone session.

These sessions are for those who are interested in improving their STEM skills to create Lego models and use robotics programming in a fun setting. Participants will be expected to share a set with one other person at busy sessions. Sessions are run by library staff. Places need to be booked for attendees only not parents/carers/guardians
