Chef Judith will teach you some of her favourite Ecuadorian dishes followed by a sit down meal.
Ecuadorian cuisine comes from South America and reflects the country’s diverse geography, from the Pacific coast to the Andes mountains and the Amazon rainforest. It combines fresh seafood, tropical fruits, vegetables, grains, and spices to create vibrant, flavourful dishes. Meals are hands-on, social, and made to be shared, with signature dishes like Ceviche, Tigrillo, and Empanadas highlighting the warmth, creativity, and communal spirit of Ecuadorian food culture.
Our cookery classes are family-style - meaning everyone works together to prepare the dishes as a team.
While you’ll be asked to choose one dish to focus on, you’ll have the opportunity to move around the kitchen, help with other dishes, and learn from each recipe. It’s a fun, social, and collaborative way to cook! At the end of the class, you’ll sit down with the chef, class facilitator and volunteers to enjoy the delicious meal you’ve created together.

Qualified London Guide Rob Smith will take you on a two hour walk following the last part of the largest of London's hidden rivers, the River Fleet. His infectious enthusiasm for history will bring the journey to life.
You will hear about slums and slaughterhouses, poverty and prisons, and the purgative properties of the famous spa waters. The River Fleet was once the Western boundary of the Roman City of London running sweet and clear. Find out how it degenerated into an open sewer, its banks crowded with the worst slums in London. Stand on the sites of notorious prisons and see the vast Victorian engineering feats including railways and viaducts. We end the tour close to the spot where the Fleet exits into the Thames. Although the River Fleet is far below ground it can make its presence felt in more ways than one so we will put our senses to the test.
Starts at Kings Cross Station (outside the underground exit to Euston Road).
JUNE 20
A walking tour exploring architecture & urban reinvention through the post-industrial landscapes of Kings Cross St Pancras
Gateways to the Midlands, the North, Scotland and Europe, Kings Cross St Pancras is an urban landscape like no other. Forged in the railway mania of the 19th century, the two mighty termini with their vast passenger, freight and power infrastructures transformed London forever, leaving behind a legacy of change, upheaval and a spectacular set of monuments to Victorian self-confidence. Once plagued by decay and threatened with demolition, this revived rail scene is now a destination where media, tech’ and the arts pour out of old warehouses and goods depots, and new buildings take their queue from the fragments of heavy industry. In this walk, The London Ambler embarks upon a great railway journey travelling through the past, present and future of Kings Cross St Pancras via its best architecture and most compelling urban landscapes.
Build confidence in drawing and explore the relationship between art and horticulture. Camden Art Centre’s garden and plant observation will be the guiding theme of the workshop, which aims to instill confidence and enjoyment in drawing for those who don't draw regularly and to provide new avenues for exploration for those who already have an established practice.
After a welcome introduction with cups of hot tea and sharing of her love of drawing, artist Johanna Tagada Hoffbeck will invite participants to explore drawing through considered prompts. The final part of the workshop will be dedicated to conversation among participants and the hand-binding of the day's creations into small art books, also known as zines. The workshop is designed for adults and is suitable for those who have not drawn in a long time and those with an established creative practice.
This workshop is inspired by The Gardening Drawing Club, an independent artist-led community initiative founded in 2021 by Johanna Tagada Hoffbeck, offering opportunities for adults and children to explore the relationship between art and horticulture. The project draws on concepts explored in permaculture, deep ecology, and natural farming. A curated small library of zines from international publishers, offering a wide range of formats, themes, and approaches, will be available to consult throughout the afternoon.
The participants will return home with:
Practical skills in basic zine-making and simple bookbinding techniques.
Their handmade zine created during the workshop.
Creative inspiration and ideas for future drawing and zine-publishing projects.
This workshop has previously taken place in Seoul, Tokyo and Castello Delle Stiviere under the title ‘Your Drawing Nature’.

JUNE 25 - Paths through Britain
Britain’s footpaths are more than routes across the landscape they are centuries-old stories of movement, belief, survival and discovery. In this panel conversation, we explore how ancient tracks, pilgrim ways and long-distance trails reveal a hidden history of how people have travelled slowly through these islands, and why walking still holds such power today.
On the panel will be geographer and broadcaster Nicholas Crane. He draws on this new book The Path More Travelled, to uncover the origins of Britain’s path networks, from medieval church routes and drovers’ roads to the evolution of modern rights of way. Joining him will be Chris Butterfield offering insight into the legacy of Alfred Wainwright and the cultural importance of walking in Britain’s upland landscapes. Also on the panel is adventurer and writer Phoebe Smith, who has walked some of Britain's oldest pilgrim pathways.
From ancient pilgrimage routes to contemporary slow travel, this event reveals how paths connect landscapes, histories and inner journeys.
