Welcome back to the Cleaners & Coffee local event calendar for May! This month, we've got a few recurring events as well as some spectacular one-offs in the King's Cross/Camden area.

MAY 1-4 - Jung Korean Food Festival
Think you know Korean cuisine? In collaboration with Canopy Market, JUNG Festival will be London’s first Korean food festival and invites you to dive deeper into the country’s dynamic food culture, going beyond the staple dishes of London’s Korean food scene.
Canopy Market and The Crossing will host over 30 Korean traders, offering a range of food, iconic desserts, and crafts, from cult Korean fried chicken to bold interpretations of traditional dishes. Don’t miss it over the early May Bank Holiday weekend, from 1 May to 4 May, Friday 12-8pm, and Saturday to Monday 11-6pm.
MAY 2 - Analogue Animation Workshop
Get creative in this introductory class to analogue/hand-made animation. All materials are provided, you just need your phone! All are welcome at this new series of analogue and print animation workshops with director Miranda Peyton Jones. Each session, learn, experiment and have fun with different hands-on animation techniques! A space to try out new ideas and meet fellow experimenters. Expect to come away with a piece of moving image and your printed materials.No previous animation or drawing skills necessary, all are welcome.
A walk exploring the social, political and architectural legacy of early 20th century and post-war Islington and Clerkenwell. At Modernist Islington, I'll introduce you to the social, political and architectural background of early 20th century London. We will visit Berthold Lubetkin's significant works there : the ground breaking estates at Bevin Court, Spa Green, and Priory Green, as well as the majestic Finsbury Health Centre. We will also view the Brutalist Camden Town Hall Annexe and Weston Rise estates near Kings Cross, the towers of Finsbury Estate and Turnpike House, and finish at the beautiful Golden Lane estate in Clerkenwell, next to the Barbivan. Throughout the walk, we will be discussing the influence of the Modernist movement on London's post-war urban regeneration. (Approx 3 hours)
An art taster social. Learn how to creatively mend and print on textiles guided by experienced artist Emma Howling.
MAY 7 - Spring Wreath Making Workshop
Welcome the new season with an evening of creativity at our Spring Wreath Making Workshop, hosted at The Vine on Highgate Road. Step into the new season with Blooms & Evergreen and discover the art of spring wreath-making in London, set in the intimate and characterful surroundings of The Vine on Highgate Road. This floral workshop offers a refined, hands-on experience where guests are guided through the process of creating a bespoke spring wreath using a thoughtfully curated selection of premium seasonal foliage, natural textures, and delicate spring botanicals. Expect soft, tonal greens, sculptural branches, and elegant finishing details designed to bring a sense of renewal into your home. Led by our creative team, this wreath making workshop is designed to be both calming and inspiring, an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with natural materials, and explore contemporary floral design in a relaxed, social setting.
Join us on Saturday 9th May 2026, 10am - 4pm, at the London Wildlife Trust's Camley Street Natural Park, Kings Cross for exciting talks and workshops. After successful London Days of Nature at Camley Street in 2023 and 2024, Greenspace Information for Greater London CIC are back with another day of inspiration and exploration of London's urban ecology.

An art taster social. Learn a new skill: printmaking and protest art at the People’s Art Club. Printmaking session with experienced visual artist Siobhan Bradshaw integrating the activist history of the space.
MAY 14 - The Italian Lounge
The Italian Lounge is a recurring, in-person community meetup designed to help you practise Italian in a relaxed, supportive environment. There’s no grammar teaching and no pressure to perform. Instead, you’ll find a warm welcome, light conversation prompts, and gentle facilitation to help conversations flow naturally. You’re free to speak as much or as little Italian as you like — listening and soaking up the atmosphere is just as welcome. Italian and English are both welcome, with Italian encouraged. This is a space to use Italian socially, build confidence, and connect with others who love the language and culture.
MAY 14-17 - London Coffee Festival
Cleaners & Coffee is back for the London Coffee Festival 2026!!! We'll be there on Sunday the 17th, give us a shout if you're around :)
MAY 16-17 - Slow Fashion Festival @ Coal Drops Yard
Come for a wardrobe refresh + snag super unique pieces by London's best emerging fashion designers, jewellers + beauty brands... And stick around for an incredible live music showcase by grassroots champion, The Sound Sniffer. You'll find clothing, knitwear, accessories, jewellery + skincare by London's most talented independent designer-makers + boutique brands. Alongside garments, you’ll find handmade accessories including silk scarves, hats, bags, belts + jewellery, plus natural fibre pieces, woven textures + one-off designs created with real love + stunning attention to detail. We’ll also be joined by independent skincare brands formulating in small batches – think botanical face oils, nourishing balms, handmade soaps, bodycare + gentle, plant-led products designed with sustainability in mind. Everything you’ll discover has been created by practising designer-makers who prioritise quality, thoughtful production + originality to create well-made pieces with timeless personality. When you visit make sure you stay + chat with the makers behind the pieces you admire, and take in spectacular performances by grassroots musicians curated by our brilliant music partner, The Sound Sniffer.

MAY 22 - Radiohead Reimagined @ KOKO

A largely traffic free walk exploring a world which has changed dramatically in recent years. A chance to explore London from a new angle. Markets, Kites and Canals - King’s Cross to Primrose Hill. Starting at King’s Cross Station, this walk takes us to the Regent’s Canal and then westwards towards Camden Market. From here we walk to Primrose Hill to enjoy some of the best views of the capital. This walk is full of contrasts – vibrant Camden, transformed and regenerated King’s Cross and tranquil Primrose Hill. Join us as we tell the tale of this intriguing corner of the capital.

At this time you will be given an hour to change baby and get something to eat and drink at one of the many outlets around Coal Drops Yard before meeting the guide back at a given meeting point to resume the walk. We can stop whenever you like to feed and change - without the stress of feeling you are holding up the group.
